All looks well. Heart is very strong and fully formed. All fingers and toes are there. The measurements were perfect for my due date. I am due the 29th of November, which signs me up for one miserable Thanksgiving! Here it will be the BEST holiday of the year and I will be too miserable to eat. Wah me! (there I am done with my little pity party. )
Now we just need a name....

Homemade Chocolate Syrup....
Now I will admit, chocolate isn't my preferred vice, but sometimes I do crave it! Recently that craving has been for chocolate syrup. (Blame the pregnancy hormones!) I can not stand the stuff that you buy in stores. Not only is it artificially flavored, but you can't pronounce half the ingredients. So this craving caused me to search for a homemade version. After looking at several recipes I found one I liked, but still had to change it to suit my tastes. Most versions came out pretty watery or runny. I like a mix between syrup and hot fudge consistency. So here it is my version of Homemade Chocolate Syrup.Homemade Chocolate Syrup
½ cup cocoa powder
½ cup cocoa powder
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
1-2 teaspoons cornstarch
⅛ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon vanilla
Mix the cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch and the water in a saucepan. Heat and stir to dissolve the cocoa and sugar. Boil for 3 minutes over medium heat. Be careful not to let it get too hot and boil over! (Boil over it will! Don't turn your back for a second!!!) Add the salt and the vanilla. Let cool. Pour into a clean glass jar, and store in the refrigerator. Keeps for several months, but will most likely be devoured before then. Yields a bit more than two cups.

Health Warning!!!...
Information about Gonorrhea Lectem
The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim. It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect 'em," and it is a terrible obamanation. The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008...but now most people, after having been infected for the past 1-2 years, are starting to realize how destructive this sickness is. It's sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the market called Votemout. You take the first dose in 2010 and the second dose in 2012 and simply don't engage in such behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it. Several states are already on top of this, like Virginia and New Jersey, and apparently now Massachusetts, with many more seeing the writing on the wall(I LOVE this....Thanks for sending it in my email Raelene.)

My Little Dare Devil......
This one is going to keep me on my toes....if not completely gray haired in a few years!
He is always climbing up onto or into something. Or standing up and pulling things over on himself. He is always sporting some type or red mark or bruise. He is also the one who finds it incredibly entertaining to bash his forehead into yours hard enough to make your teeth clatter. The louder you yelp the funnier it is!
Today I ran out to turn on the water in the garden. I was gone maybe a minute. As I came back on the porch I heard him banging on the piano. I sighed with great relief knowing I could safely open the door without mowing him down. (This is another common occurrence as he thinks it is his duty to stand in front of any closed door and wait for you.) I swung the door open wide and found this.......
Yes Folks, that's right he IS standing on the vacuum! While I was out he had pushed the vacuum up to the piano and climbed on top. Normally he just stands up and reaches the keys from the ground.....but no not this time. This time he wanted to reach the piano books as well! So there he was playing and dancing atop the vacuum. Yes, my heart stopped. I quickly recovered and ran for the camera.....all the while praying "don't let him fall, don't let him fall!" Just another normal day with our Cub.

Just My Thoughts Today.....
We are making slow progress on the garden. We had planted all our tomatoes and peppers the last week of May. We put them in Hot caps to protect them from the wind. We left for Wyoming and came back to find they had FROZEN!!!! So I planted 12 jalapeno plants for Wilfred and 2 more tomatoes this week. Maybe just maybe we will have a long enough season to get some fruit. Wilfred is out now planting the corn, beans, and other goodies. This is the latest we have ever planted our garden before....but with such weird weather I guess we had no choice. It is 95 outside right now. It was supposed to get to 105 in the big city today, makes me glad to live on the other side of the mountain. The news said we haven't had it this hot this early in June since 2004. We also have a HOT, DRY wind gusting out there.
Wilfred put in a window a/c for me on Thursday night. I am enjoying it! It is much quieter than our swamp cooler was. (Swap cooler had to go when we built Kaleb a room.) It manages to keep the living room about 10 degrees cooler than outside.....I'll take whatever I get. I have always gotten heat stroke easily and it is much worse when I am pregnant. Yesterday I planted moss roses out in my porch planters. I had the kids out helping me....when I got too hot I began throwing up. The kids were sure worried! Lindsy was quite fascinated with the color and Clayton was certain I was going to die. We have eaten our dinner out on the porch every night. It has been much cooler outside than inside. The kids have enjoyed the picnic style eating and the neighbors have taken to staring as they drive by. We just wave real big and smile.
Wilfred butchered the Cornish chickens this morning. We had 5 birds that all weighed in at 6.5 pounds dressed. Not bad! Lindsy started begging her dad to get more baby chicks. So he caved and put in another order for more chicks. We have 15 Cornish, 5 Black Star laying hens, & 5 Rhode Island Red laying hens coming again in July. I put an ad on craigslist a few days ago to get rid of my surplus of eggs. I said I would charge a dollar extra per carton if I had to meet someone in the big city. I sold out in no time. I am taking a load of eggs with me to the grocery store tomorrow, I have a few ladies who are going to meet me there. They were more than happy to pay the extra for fresh eggs. This has given us some hope for selling our eggs more. If I can build a regular client base that would be awesome. That is why Wilfred put in for more laying hens as well. I guess we will see what happens. Maybe Clayton will get his wish for a farm after all. It'll be an egg farm!
This morning we also had our first snake on the property. Wilfred found it under the feed bin down at the chicken coop. Just a bull snake....but still too much snake for my liking!

These were taken at 14 weeks and 2 days. Baby looks good with a very strong heartbeat. However the baby is measuring small. They are keeping my due date the same, but want to check for continued growth. I go back in July for another ultrasound. We will also be able to tell if we have to dig out the blue boxes or the pink ones. Make sure to vote (upper right corner) before my next ultrasound.
